Burke, Vermont Town Charter Granted February 26, 1782

Burke Board of Listers

During 2008 you saw the Listers out and about inspecting properties. In 2009 we will continue site visits, measuring and taking pictures to update our records and property files.

All permits that were issued during the year will be our first priority. (Please check with the Town before building or adding an outdoor wood furnace as the Towns Bylaws have changed over the last couple of years.) If you would like us to come and look at your property please give a call and make an appointment.

IF YOU ARE A RESIDENT OF THE TOWN OF BURKE, PLEASE BE SURE TO FILE YOUR HS-122

These forms determine your residential tax rate for your property taxes. This should be done when you file your State taxes no later than April 15'~. After that date you will be charged a penalty. After September 1, 2009 there will be no adjustment. The definition of Resident means an individual who meets the criteria for residency. Residency means for the purpose of income tax, an individual who in that portion of the taxable year
