STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL

 

FRIDAY, JUNE 27, 2025 from 4-7pm (or until gone)

AT THE WEST BURKE PARK, ROUTE 5A IN THE VILLAGE (across from Aldrich's General Store)

RAIN OR SHINE 

Dinner, dessert, music and dancing! Stop on by the park for dinner and your annual shortcake fix! 

Food Trucks - Runaway Tomato (pizza and calzones) and Smokin' Something BBQ

 

Live music from Tritium Well.


The Burke Chamber will be selling homemade Strawberry Shortcake with proceeds to benefit the Burke Area Chamber of Commerce. 

 

The West Burke Methodist Church will have a Bake Sale.

 

Aldrich's General Store will be open and selling ice cream cones with all proceeds to benefit the West Burke Fire Department.

 

PARKING: Please park at the Town Offices Lot on School Street in West Burke or the lot at the West Burke Methodist Church on Church Street (please do not park in Parsonage area).


This event is hosted by the Burke Area Chamber of Commerce with assistance from Aldrich's General Store, Mike's Gas, East Burke Market, the Town of Burke, the West Burke Universalist Society, West Burke Library, West Burke Methodist Church and other local businesses.

Burke's Recycling & Trash

Burke accepts recycling at 212 School Street on Wednesday, Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00pm and on Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. NEK Rubbish is also available to take your trash the same hours as recycling for a charge.

The Town of Burke is looking for civic minded candidates that may be interest in serving on the Planning Commission. This is a volunteer position. Planning Commission meetings are held at the Town Clerk's Office on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00PM If you would like to be involved in planning & development of your Town this would be a great opportunity. If you are interested, please submit a letter of interest & qualifications to the Town Clerk's Office, 212 School Street, West Burke 05871 by June 17, 2025. ROADSIDE MOWING BIDS

May 14, 2025
The Town of Burke is accepting bids from contractors to perform Roadside Mowing on approx. 51 miles of roadway. The work will consist of 2 passes on all Class II and III Town Highways. Cutting of overhanging tree limbs as necessary should be included. Should be completed between August 1st and September 15th, 2025 The contractor is responsible for proper signage. Bids are due Monday June 2, 2025 by 4:00 PM at the Burke Town Clerk's Office, 212 School Street, West Burke, VT 05871. Bids should be in a sealed envelope and labeled Roadside Mowing Bid. Bids will be opened at the Selectboard Meeting Monday, June 2, 2025 at 6:00 PM. The Selectboard reserves the right to reject any and all bids
